Geocache Description:

This hunt will require a watercraft. Kayak or canoe is best but you can use a small outboard motorboat.

Enter the waterway at the Kelley's Falls boat launch. Cars and boat trailers can be left at the West Side Ice Arena. The round trip paddle is about four miles all on flatwater. Boat traffic is usually low especially on week days. The boat launch coordinates are: N 42° 59.688 W 71° 29.671.  You may want to bring a fishing rod. The backwater where the cache is hidden has been known to have prize bass. You may see the great blue heron that watched me set the cache. If you continue in the same direction after finding the cache you will end up back in the main channel of the river. You may want to stop on one of the sand bars for a swim.

Above is the original cache description; below is newer supplemental information:

Thanks are due to "Grampa Cardigan" as the original hider of this classic cache.

The solid-rock-seekers adopted the cache in 2022 to maintain it for future generations of cachers to enjoy.  The container was replaced in the original hide location with a regular-sized container wired to the tree so that it will not be carried away by spring floods.
