Cottingham Zion Methodist Church:
There has been a non-conformist presence in Cottingham for over 300 years when a group of independent Christians(Dissenters) met and later formed an independent church. In 1888 the church joined the Congregational Union of England and Wales which in 1972 united with the Presbyterian Church in England to form the United Reformed Church
The original chapel was built in 1692 and replaced by the present building a few centuries later.
In 1967 a preservation order was issued and the building is scheduled an ancient monument, being a fine example of Georgian architecture. The interior is noteworthy for the box pews
