Multi 3: Van Poortersloge tot park - from Poortersloge to a parc
3de van 3 multi’s en een bonus, die mekaar opvolgen in de Brugse binnenstad.
Een wandeling van ongeveer 7 kilometer.

Waypoint 1: de Brugse beer
Vraag: Op de hoek van de poortersloge ziet u hier de Brugse Beer met het wapenschild van de steekspelvereniging “de Witte Beer”. Zij organiseerden in de Middeleeuwen steekspelen in Brugge. De kleuren op een wapenschild hebben een specifieke betekenis. Goud staat voor wijsheid of rijkdom. Wie zilver gebruikt in zijn wapenschild vindt trouw zeer belangrijk. Rood, ook wel keel genoemd staat, voor moed en opoffering; Sinopel of groen dan weer voor hoop en mildheid.

At the corner of the old building called “de poortersloge”, you can see the bear of Bruges, showing the coat of arms of the Bruges association of joust, “de witte beer”, in English the white bear. They organised tournament in Bruges during the Middle Ages.
The colours on coats of arms symbolise the values that were important for an association. Gold means wisdom and richness. Silver stands for faithfulness. Red or gules symbolises courage and sacrifice. Green or vert means hope and mildness.
