#9 Trilho de Xisto - Na casa do Gnomo Traditional Geocache

A Rede das Aldeias do Xisto é um projeto de desenvolvimento sustentável, de âmbito regional, liderado pela ADXTUR- Agência para o Desenvolvimento Turístico das Aldeias do Xisto, em parceria com 21 Municípios da Região Centro e com cerca de 100 operadores privados que atuam no território.

Estado presentes em quatro Unidades de Paisagem (Serra da Lousã, Serra do Açor, Zêzere e Tejo-Ocreza), as Aldeias do Xisto representam um belíssimo património cultural e natural. Com vastas possibilidades que vão desde a gastronomia à etnografia, das ruralidades e da ligação à natureza e à floresta, as Aldeias do Xisto têm enorme potencial turístico e não só.

O projeto Geocaching Aldeias do Xisto propõe aumentar a oferta de pontos de interesse associados a esta prática da caça ao tesouro do sec. XXI. Pretende dotar cada aldeia com pelo menos duas caches e integrar algumas já existentes em circuitos e percursos pedestres.

The Schist Villages area is a region of Portugal’s interior that has successfully been promoted to tourists. The brand is managed by the ADXTUR association, the Agency for the Touristic Development of the Schist Villages, and brings together 21 Municipalities of the central region of Portugal, and more than 100 private local operations, which all share the common strategy of promoting and revitalising an area where schist stone dominates the landscape.

Present in four Landscape Units (Serra da Lousã, Serra do Açor, Zêzere and Tejo-Ocreza), the Schist Villages represent a beautiful cultural and natural heritage. With vast possibilities ranging from gastronomy to ethnography, rurality and the connection to nature and to the forest, the Schist Villages have enormous touristic potential, among others.

The Geocaching Schist Villages Project proposes to increase the offer of points of interest associated with this practice treasure hunting of the XXI century. It intends to equip each village with at least two caches and integrate some already existent in circuits and pedestrian routes.

Descobrir estas aldeias representa mergulhar no mundo mágico da Serra da Lousã e embrenhar-se numa vegetação luxuriante por onde espreitam veados, corços, javalis e muitas outras espécies nomeadamente a gineta e o esquilo.

Aqui reina a Natureza, sensível, que pede respeito, mas que permite inúmeras possibilidades de lazer e de desportos ativos. A envolvente florestal e a fauna que a povoam, tornam-na num ponto de partida de eleição para caminhadas e criam um ambiente de descoberta quando se avistam ao longe as aldeias que parecem ter nascido do solo xistoso, naturalmente, como as árvores.

O casario orientado pelas encostas esconde verdadeiros labirintos de ruelas, que à medida que nos afastamos das aldeias, transformam-se em trilhos ingremes de grande beleza.

É um desses trilhos que nos propomos partilhar. Tem início e fim na aldeia do Talasnal, passando pelas aldeias do Casal Novo, Chiqueiro e Vaqueirinho. Atendendo a que o trilho atravessa áreas onde predomina a vegetação caducifólia de Carvalho (Quercus robur e petraea) e Castanheiro (Castanea sativa) bem como pinhais de Pinheiro-bravo (Pinus pinaster), é muito provável que se cruzem com algum animal selvagem, sobretudo veados e esquilos. É um percurso que poderá ser realizado durante todas as estações do ano.

Discovering these villages means immersing yourself in the magical world of the Serra da Lousã and engulfing yourself in lush vegetation where deer, bucks, boars and many other species, such as the gineta and the squirrel lurk.

Here Nature reigns, sensitive, respectful, but allowing at the same time manypossibilities of leisure and active sports. The surrounding forest and the fauna that populate it make it a prestigious starting point for walks and create an environment of discovery when you see in the distance the villages that seem to have been born from the schist soil, naturally, like the trees.

The hill-side houses hide real labyrinths of alleys, which as we move away from the villages, become steep paths of great beauty.

It is one of those trails that we propose to share. It begins and ends in the village of Talasnal, passing through the villages of Casal Novo, Chiqueiro and Vaqueirinho. Given that the trail crosses areas where the deciduous vegetation of Carvalho (Quercus robur and petraea) and Chestnut (Castanea sativa) predominates, as well as Pinheiro-bravo forests (Pinus pinaster), it is very probable you cross paths with some wild animal, mainly deer and squirrels. This trail can be done all year round.
