TOMTEC: Ok, serves me right for retrieving the cache container in the dark... Looks like nature played it's own roll in Stumpy's demise as the remainder of the stump had finally decayed enough to fall over leaving one side remaining with the cache hanging in plain view! Now, that explains the muggling... Well, since there are no other suitable locations in the area (The other hollow beech tree I had in mind fell over last year... good thing I didn't use it!) I think I'll retire the old stump. This cache is now Archived!

Geocache Description:

Located in Nobleton, Ontario just off a hiking trail near Davis Park. Cache elevation: 285m

The cache is a green painted 2.5 litre plant food bucket with a metal carry handle.

Suggested parking location: N43 54.583' W79 39.764' (Davis Park)
You can enter the trail at: N43 54.557' W79 39.683'
The wood-chip trail can be followed all the way to the cache, no bushwhacking is required. The hike from parking to cache is just over 500 meters. The trail wraps around a small pond which is surrounded by a marshy swampy area. Bug repellant would be a good idea as this area is often populated with mosquitoes.
