Geocache Description:

For such a nice little church, information was hard to come by! please include in logs any info you have on the church...... if any.

The Church of Saint Chad located on church lane is the Anglican parish church for Romiley built 1864-1866 by Medland and Taylor. It is a Grade II listed building. The church is  Rock faced stone with ashlar dressings and a clay tile roof. The building comprises a nave, aisles, transepts, north west tower and polygonal apse. Overall the building is in good condition, with the interior recently repainted and the roof coverings replaced. However, the broached spire has a failed iron ringbeam which has expanded and cracked the surrounding masonry.
