The Church of Saint Chad located on church lane is the Anglican parish church for Romiley built 1864-1866 by Medland and Taylor. It is a Grade II listed building. The church is Rock faced stone with ashlar dressings and a clay tile roof. The building comprises a nave, aisles, transepts, north west tower and polygonal apse. Overall the building is in good condition, with the interior recently repainted and the roof coverings replaced. However, the broached spire has a failed iron ringbeam which has expanded and cracked the surrounding masonry.
