Geocache Description:

Located in the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Southern unit. In Jefferson County, about 1 mile west of the Waukesha County line. Enjoy the Scenic glacial features as you hike along the hilly trails in the area. You will be hiking approximately 1 1/2 miles to the cache site (each way). Walking time is 40 minutes at a leisurely pace. Give yourself a couple hours to enjoy the cache and trails in the area. THIS IS A VEHICLE FEE AREA, $5 DAILY VEH FEE, OR YEARLY STATE PARK STICKER IS REQUIRED.

** Wisconsin's 6th oldest active cache **

If you take the suggested route, you will enjoy a beautiful hike through the hilly kettle moraine. At the end, you will experience some thorns near the cache. If you decided to take the shortest route, you will encounter thorns most of the way, and will shed some blood along the way.

** Please be sure to re-hide the cache, perfectly sealed up, and level. The cache has been ruined in the past by carelessly replacing the cache **

This is our first cache. The boys and I have been anxious to hide it.

The site is located near some hiking trails. You will probably enjoy hiking the trails after you find the cache. Plan to spend a couple hours in the area. You will probably get thirsty, so bring a canteen and some munchies. During the "buggy" months, bring some bug spray along, the mosquitos can be vicious.

Little kids (under 5) may have a hard time on this one due to the hilly terrain.

Park at: N42'52.231 W88'32.646

From the trail head, follow the "green" loop north, and then west, until you reach the area of the cache.

The cache is a large,3 gallon tupperware container that is painted camoflage. The cache's original contents:

-Grouse tail -Log book -rain ponchos
-gun lock -camera -stickers
-Tracy Chapman CD -Herbie Hancock CD -phone ext cord
-flashlight.

We look forward to your visit

** There are many deer and critter trails near the cache site. These trails existed before the cache was placed and were not caused by people looking for the cache. Please be sure to completely cover the cache before you leave **
