Zuerst passiert man eine Sprengstelle, die notdürftig gesichert ist. Wahrscheinlich wurde sie von deutscher Seite gesprengt, um ein Eindringen ins Hohlgangsystem zu unterbinden. Hierbei wurde ein seitlich vorhandener Eingang zu einem Hohlraum zerstört. Dieser war mit einem Holzfußboden ausgestattet und liegt seltsamerweise eine Etage über dem Niveau des Hauptgangs. Das sich nun auftuende große Hohlgangprofil schließt sich an den Treppenschacht des A8 West an. Dieser Schacht mit an der Seite befindlicher Betontreppe führt über 20 m in die Höhe. Oben angelangt, steht man in einem Raum der im Jahr 1944 errichtet wurde und den Zugang provisorisch sicherte. Wieder unten verläuft der Hohlgangs leicht versetzt zum Treppenschacht etwa quadratisch um eine Fläche von 40x40 m. Geradeaus im Hauptgang gelangt man in zwei parallel verlaufende Kasernenblöcke, die den Hohlgang kreuzen. Hier hat man die Gasschutztüren 65P09 am Eingang als Schiebetüren ausgeführt und innerhalb ganz normal als Anschlagtüren. Die obere Etage ist durchgängig und überquert so den Hauptgang. Danach geht’s durch eine 90 Grad Kurve zum A8 Ost, welches diagonal zum A8 West liegt. Der Treppenschacht, auch mit seitlicher Betontreppe, ist diesmal nicht ganz so hoch, etwa um die 12-15 m. Oben ist er dagegen mit einer massiven Zwischendecke verschlossen. Oberhalb dieses Schachtes befindet sich anscheinend nichts mehr, da sich die vorhandenen Quellen darüber ausschweigen. Der Hohlgang geht noch etwa 20 m gerade aus und endet an einem senkrecht nach unten führenden Schacht mit einem Betondeckel. Über der Erde ist vom Artilleriewerk 8 nicht viel zusehen, nur die große Baugrube des A8 West mit dem riesigen Betonfundament. In der Mitte der Anlage befindet sich der provisorisch errichtete Raum zum Schutz des Treppenschachtes. Dieser ist nicht etwa gemauert, sondern die Ziegel dienten nur als äußere Verschalung. Vom A8 Ost ist im Gelände nichts auszumachen. Wahrscheinlich sollte aus Platzgründen erst ein Werk oberirdisch fertig gestellt werden.
