Geocache Description:

The states of Virginia and Maryland each donated land for the creation of the Federal City/US Capital (Washington DC). The Virginia portion was returned back to the commonwealth. But not before the survey crews placed this cornerstone (one of four). This was (or was to have been) the Western extreme point of Washington, DC. If the land had not been returned to Virginia then the Federal City/US Capital would have been not only a perfect square but also a perfect diamond. This point would have been the westernmost point of the diamond for DC. Today this marks the boundary between Arlington County and Falls Church - independent city of Fairfax county. To prove that you found it, email me the full name of the person that the park is dedicated to. Please don't log the answer, even if encrypted. Enjoy.
