[PT] Esta cache visa dar a conhecer uma levada pouco conhecida do Faial, a levada das Cruzinhas. Tendo o seu inicio na ribeira da Metade, esta levada percorre alguns km's transportando àgua para os terrenos agriculas situados em solos mais elevados.
[ENG] This cache aims to make known a levada little known of Faial, the levada das Cruzinhas. Having the begining on the ribeira da Metade, this levada goes for a few km's carrying water for the agricultural land located on higher land.
[PT] Os tuneis, são uma construção comum em vários percursos na ilha. Construidos de forma rudimentar, garantem a passagem do canal que transporta a àgua para zonas onde este bem é mais escasso. Neste percurso, encontramos vários tuneis esculpidos em diferentes tipos de rocha, que nos leva a pensar a magnificidade da construção destas passagens. Alguns dos tuneis contam com algumas "janelas" que deixam entrar a luz e mostram um pouco da paisagem verdejante do outro lado do vale.
[ENG] The tunnels are a common construction in various routes on the island. Built rudimentary , ensure the passage of the canal that carries water to areas where this well is more scarce. In this walk, we found several tunnels carved in different types of rock, which gets us thinking the magnificent work on the construction of these passages. Some of the tunnels have some "Windows" that let in the light and show a bit of greenery on the other side of the Valley.
