1- L’Île Madame
L’Île Madame est une île française, baignée par l'océan Atlantique, au large des côtes de la Charente-Maritime et appartenant à l'archipel charentais.
Elle est située sur la rive gauche de l'estuaire de la Charente entre la presqu'île de Fouras et l'île d'Aix au nord, et le petit port ostréicole de Port-des-Barques, commune à laquelle elle est administrativement rattachée, au sud, dont elle est séparée par la Passe aux bœufs. Elle fait face à l'île d'Oléron et au célèbre fort Boyard.
2 - Qu’est-ce qu’un tombolo ?
Un tombolo est un cordon littoral de sédiments reliant deux étendues terrestres. Un marais maritime (naturel ou aménagé) est souvent associé à la mise en place du tombolo. Tombolo est un terme géomorphologique concernant un cordon littoral entre une île ou un îlot et la côte (continent ou une autre île). Le dépôt sédimentaire (sableux ou graveleux) est généralement mis en place par la réfraction du train de vagues due à l'île : celle-ci protège la zone située entre elle et l'autre étendue terrestre, provoquant le dépôt des sédiments où les vagues se rencontrent.
Le tombolo est souvent perpendiculaire à la ligne générale du trait de côte.
3 - La Passe aux boeufs
La liaison entre l'île et le continent est assurée par un socle rocheux légèrement recouvert de cailloux et de sable sur une longueur de 1,1 kilomètre et par un petit « tombolo » de sable long d'une centaine de mètres ; c'est ce que l'on appelle la Passe-aux-Bœufs.

1 - Île Madame
Île Madame is a French island, in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Charente-Maritime and Charente-owned archipelago.
It is located on the left bank of the estuary of the Charente between Fouras peninsula and the island of Aix in north, and the small oyster port of Port-des-Barques, to which it is attached administratively to the south, which is separated by « la passe-aux-boeufs ». 3 - « la Passe-aux-Boeufs »
The connection between the island and the mainland is ensured by a bedrock slightly covered with pebbles and sand on a length of 1.1 km and a small tombolo of sand along a hundred meters; this is what is called « la Passe -aux-Boeufs ».
