At this countdown event there will be geotalk and TB/coin swapping too.
Singleton Park also holds a boating lake, crazy golf, a bouncy castle and a children's play area, all close to the pub. The pub boasts free Wi-Fi access for patrons, a patio area with heated Jumbrella, full wheelchair access, disabled toilet and baby changing facilities. There's also a smoker's shelter with lighting & heating.
Food served at the pub til 10pm - last orders 9.30pm. Please say if you plan to eat at the pub in your Will Attend log, and how many of you that includes.
Why: To promote the Geolympix and talk about our awesome plans! It's a chance to discuss the Geolympix and why you should be there. It's being held at Ashridge in Hertfordshire (a beautiful free-to-enter-and-park National Trust venue) on Sunday July 31st 2016. One feature of the Geolympix is old caches - it's being held where GC177 (the UK's 3rd oldest cache) and GC18BC (UK's oldest Puzzle) are, and GC171 is close by too! - so this event is being held under 7 miles from GC813D Tor Bay Cache by Chris,Nic and Jo (adopted by mitch.mob), which was set in August 2002.
Who: All cachers welcome, from far and wide! Geodogs (outside only, except assistance dogs) and Geokids included.
Parking: Lots behind the pub or across the road, beside the sea (£5 all day, £1.30 an hour, £2.50 for two hours.) - Parking is generally free in Swansea in the evenings though so shop around!
Please: Say how many of you are coming and if you'd like to eat at the pub with your Will Attend log. This will help us ensure the pub has enough staff to cope with expected numbers. Thank you.
All this plus! 15 caches within a mile (as of July 4th 2011. This may have changed! Ok, I checked; it's now 30) - Get a feel of the spirt and atmosphere of the Geolympix. Please come along and enjoy a taste of what what we're calling the GeolympiX-Factor :)
