Geocache Description:

Western Views

This cache is named for the view the early settlers would have seen as they passed this way before descending the Western Escarpment.

The location is close to the road that was used between 1912 and 1920 to descend to the Western Plains and is a short walk from the car park area (see photo).

Bear in mind the area is rocky so Geokids and Geopups will have to take care. The cache was at one time a waterproof plastic cylinder that contained a mixture of goodies. Food for the famished, Batteries for the GPSr, Three legged fuses for the electronically inclined, Purple objects for those who like the colour and other small treasures. - These have long gone.

Bear in mind the area is rocky so Geokids and Geopups will have to take care.

While you are in the area, go to the end of the road you drove in on and look at the monuments to the early explorers, The location is close to the road that was used between 1912 and 1920 to descend to the Western Plains.

Camping is now allowed at the end of the road.
