The cache is near the Stokes Nature Center about a third of a mile from parking along the level River Trail  It is placed with permission from the Nature Center Staff. The Stokes Nature Center can help others understand what make this area so special.  Information on the full River Trail and other links provided below.  Logan Canyon is a wonderful place to visit and this is just the beginning of it.  Enjoy!!

As the only nature center in Cache Valley, Stokes Nature Center provides a variety of high-quality, hands-on programs for school children, community groups, families, and the general public. Our programs offer information, discovery, and exploration of the natural world.

Trailheads: Across Highway 89 from the Cache National Forest sign at the mouth of Logan Canyon (GPS: N41°44′516″ W111°46′567″) or Second Dam (GPS: N41°44′777″ W111°44′817″) or Bridger Campground or Spring Hollow Campground, 4.3 miles from Logan (GPS: N41°45′200″ W111°43′010″)

Elevation Start/Gain: 4900 feet/500 feet

Route: "The River Trail follows the Logan City water line, which is buried beneath the road and passes Stokes Nature Center. The trail parallels the river and is never more than a few hundred feet from US Hwy 89, although traffic is not visible for most of its length.

"The trail goes south above Bridger Campground and Gus Lind Flat Summer Home Area. It passes Third Dam and ends at Spring Hollow.

"Moose have been seen near the river, and many species of birds and plants can be observed."
