Take the secret tunnel under the railroad tracks and walk down a park road to a hidden cemetery!
Pay your respects, solve the puzzle, and make the find!
This is NOT a Park and Grab!
Please DON'T try to reach this cache from the highway or exit ramp of I95.
There is also NO NEED TO GO NEAR and NO ACCESS from the train tracks!
Plan time to take a stroll in this sweet little park with beautiful mature specimen trees and search for the clues.
Do NOT come after dark!
This cache is placed in a strip of land between the railroad tracks and the highway. Cut off from the beautiful Greenwood cemetery by the construction of i95, it is the site of a memorial obelisk dedicated a hundred years ago to the founders and benefactors of the nearby Osborn Home. This little-known park-like plot is open to the public during daylight hours, but there are no signs of any kind posted to let you know this place is here!
The best time to go is weekdays before school is out, and then weekends. Do NOT come after dark.
Again, there is NO ACCESS to/from and NO NEED TO GO NEAR the train tracks or the highway. It is, however, very close to both so just to be safe please don't bring children or animals on this hunt.
Please behave yourself when parking and heading toward the trailhead, and use stealth searching for this cache. Muggle factors are corporate parking lot security and landscapers, teenagers hanging out after school, and people in cars or riding the train when the foliage is down.
Park next to the corporate buildings and walk toward the trailhead which is a driveway that goes UNDER the street and the tracks! Once you pass the graffiti murals, take a right and walk down the dirt road toward the area with the big stone columns and locate the monument for the clues.
On the back side of the monument there is an inscription telling when it was erected. Take the number of letters in the first line and multiply it by the number of 'A's in the whole inscription. Subtract this from the monument's Nº to get the cache's latitude.
Next, count the number of letters in the 4th line of the inscription, add to it the number of 'H's in the whole inscription. Multiply this by the number of 'R's in the whole inscription, add it to the the monument's Wº to get the cache's longitude.
