Geocache Description:

A cache to do after dark.

As it will be, almost impossible in day light

Queen Victoria came by train to visited The Robertson’s at Pale Hall in 1889.

On the day she arrived, it had been raining and the line was slippery, with wet leaves. As the engine driver applied the brakes to stop at the station, the wheels lost traction on the rails, the train passed through the station and came to a halt a few yards passed the platform. The driver had to reverse the train back to the station and the red carpet, waiting for Queen Victoria to disembark.

This is a night cache

You will need at least one bright torch and I suggest two, with back up batteries just in case.

Your journey to this cache will take you on a short trip along the old railway line and passed what remains of the station platform.

The old line is flat but over grown with some fallen trees to negotiate, either over or under.

Watch your footing, as there are tree roots and rocks protruding from the ground making for trip hazards

At the given coordinates you will find a reflector and a set of steps leading down into the darkness of the old railway line

(Please take care on the steps as they are overgrown and can be slippery)

Once on the old track bed you will need to decide which of the three possible directions is correct. All you need to do is search for some reflectors to guide you in the right direction to the final goal of a cache and log book..

BUT, as its one of Dr Evil’s caches, the log book will resist being extracted from its hiding place.

You will have to work out how to extract the log book once at GZ.

All the items you need to get the log book are provided at the cache location.

Once you have found the cache, you will need to retrace your steps back to the start.
