Sixt sur Aff, déjà habité il y a 2400 ans.
Sixt sur Aff tire son nom de l'emplacement de la 6 ème borne militaire située sur la voie romaine reliant Duretie (Rieux) à Condate (Rennes). L'aff étant la rivière en bordure de la commune. La commune fait partie aujourd'hui de la communauté de commune de Redon.
2200 habitants en 2015 , Sixt sur Aff offre de nombreux équipements tels que la salle des sports, la salle multifonction, la médiathèque, la maison de santé, les écoles et plus de 25 associations... Cette comune est dotée de cette base de loisirs très agréable du "site de la roche", bien connue des sixtins et sixtines.
A quelques pas de la salle "Espace de l'Aff", le site de la roche offre son espace calme et reposant, un parcours de santé, des jeux pour enfants, des airs de pique-nique. Il est le lien idéal pour se promener en famille ou entre amis. Il est également le théatre de différentes attractions tout au long de l'année: Concours de pêche, concours de palets sans oublier le traditionnel et spéctaculaire feu d'artifice du premier samedi de juillet.

Sixt-sur-Aff, inhabited for 2400 years Sixt-sur-Aff, named after the boundary stone, military marker placed on the roman road connecting Duretie (Rieux) and Condate (Rennes).
L’Aff being the river and also the border of the commune. Today the town is part of the municipality of Redon. 2200 inhabitants in 2015; Sixt-sur-Aff offers diverse facilities to it’s inhabitants.
Sports Hall and ground, modern Community Centre with stage, lighting and audio systems, media library, health centre, private and state schools and with more than 25 assorted social associations that cater for all types of hobbies. The “Site de la Roche” is well known to young and old of the Commune. A few steps away from the Community Centre (Espace de L’Aff) the Site de la Roche offers a quiet and relaxing open space with children’s play area and pic-nic facilities with ideal linking pathways to walk with family and friends. It is also an open air theatre for many different attractions throughout the year. Fishing, palets contests and the traditional spectacular firework display (Feu d’Artifice) held each year on the Saturday of the first week of July.
