HU: A kastélyt Luby Géza építtette 1877─79-ben. Az emeletes épületet park ölelte körül, melynek utca felőli részében gyönyörű rózsaliget illatozott. Ebben a kastélyban születtek meg Luby Géza Okolicsányi Margittal kötött házasságából származó gyermekei, köztük Luby Margit néprajzi gyűjtő és etnográfiai művek szerzője, valamint ifjabb Luby Géza, aki a XX. század elején anyagi okokból eladott kastélyt és birtokot 1936-ban visszavásárolta. A közben eltelt három évtizedben gróf Vay Ádám kiskorú örökösei voltak a tulajdonosok. 1936-tól Luby Géza lakott itt feleségével, Kölcsey Borbálával és neje első házasságából származó gyermekeivel, Szaplonczay Zsófiával és Lajossal.
Az államosítás után a kastély általános iskolaként működött. Az iskolák körzetesítésével a nagyari iskolát megszüntették, és mivel az épület nem kapott új funkciót, állaga egyre romlott.
2010-ben kezdődött a kastély felújítása. A 2013-ban átadott épületben interaktív múzeum kapott helyet, amely játékos formában, a modern technika segítségét is igénybe véve tanítja a látogatókat, akik a feladatok révén időutazást tesznek nemzetünk és a szatmári régió történelmi-irodalmi-művészeti múltjában.
ENG: The Luby castle is in sharp contrast with the wooden verandas of the houses of the settlement. It was built by Congressman Géza Luby, in 1878-79 who was about to get married, but today it is in a ruinous shape, and is under reconstruction.
We can experience a unique form of use of the castle here. The authentic historic, folk and literary environment gives a great basis for the project. Inside the building there will be an interactive museum, which will playfully educate and make the visitors compete with the use of modern technology, taking them to a time travel in the history of the Szatmár region, in six rooms, with different topics (nature, ethnography, history, literature, music, etc.). The visitors of the exhibition will be able to touch and use the objects.
A home page is also part of the project. Through the Luby portal potential visitors will be able to gather information about the project, and with the help of virtual games and applications will be able to gain new experiences related to the project.
The rose-garden of the park will be reconstructed as well. Such kind of roses will be planted, that originate from the 19th century or earlier. In the middle of the park a circle shaped fountain will be placed, and will be decorated with statues. All of these will be surrounded with rose arbours, pergolas and hedges. Rose-trees will be for sale as well.
In the building of the museum a buffet and souvenir shop will also take place.
