As yet, there are only a handful of caches on the western bank of the Murrumbidgee - but having made the long trek up the western side of the river several times now, I feel some justification to claim it for my own hides!
Near to this cache (in fact, just beyond the prohibited zone) is the precariously placed "Rocky Raceway". On both my attempts at that remarkable cache, I stopped for lunch in this curious little spot before descending to the river. With a new cache now hidden here, I hope it can now be a "staging ground" for other expeditions down to Tankengine's cache in the rapids - or a "consolation prize" for those who, like me, find the river in flood and blocking their path...
The cache container is at the smallest end of "small": There is little room besides a logbook and pencil, but this is my first proper hide, so to mark it I also added a little compass that I have had for a very, very long time. Maybe it can guide someone else on new travels from here on out!
