ANTIGA FÁBRICA DA CHICÓRIA DA RIBEIRINHA
Na Ribeirinha existe a antiga fábrica de chicória que outrora foi polo de desenvolvimento não só da freguesia mas também como para toda a ilha de S. Miguel.
DESCRIÇÃO:Antiga fábrica de chicória situada num terreno murado perto do centro da povoação. É composta por seis corpos, destacando-se, entre os corpos retangulares de um só piso, o volume vertical da torre de secagem.
Junto ao portão de entrada situa-se o corpo dos escritórios, à frente do qual há uma balança de pavimento. Dois armazéns e a torre de secagem são contíguos formando uma banda de três edifícios com a torre ao centro. A torre, por sua vez, resulta da "colagem" de três volumes: um prisma retangular a cuja face posterior encosta uma das faces de um prisma hexagonal e cuja face anterior, ao nível do último piso, é prolongada por um pequeno corpo de planta trapezoidal suportado por duas grandes mísulas com a forma de lâminas triangulares.
A torre, no interior, divide-se em cinco pisos que comunicam entre si por uma escada. Esta dá acesso, em cada piso, a uma sala indiferenciada e à coluna dos fornos de secagem que ocupa todo o corpo de planta hexagonal.
Em frente a estas três construções situa-se um pequeno edifício onde se picava a chicória. Ao fundo do terreno situa-se mais um armazém de maiores dimensões.
Os edifícios, que não são uniformes do ponto de vista construtivo, têm estruturas mistas de alvenaria de pedra e blocos de cimento, ferro e betão armado, sendo as paredes exteriores parcialmente rebocadas e pintadas de amarelo. As coberturas são planas, em laje de betão armado, com exceção do armazém ao lado esquerdo da torre e do edifício de escritórios que têm telhados de duas e uma água em telha de meia-cana tradicional. Sobre a cobertura plana do armazém que fica à direita da torre emerge uma pequena torre prismática de planta quadrangular.
RIBEIRINHA
Ribeirinha é uma freguesia portuguesa do concelho da Ribeira Grande, com 17,75 km² de área e 2 349 habitantes (2011). Densidade: 132,3 hab/km².
Alguns dos pontos de interesse desta freguesia são: Miradouro da Vigia da Baleia, Porto de Santa Iria, Igreja e centro da localidade, assim como um interessante percurso junto ao mar, na zona do chão das gatas. Esta freguesia possui dois locais, de nome curioso, as Gramas: Gramas de Cima e Gramas de Baixo.
As festas da freguesia são muito concorridas no concelho, durando desde sábado até 3ª Feira de meados de Agosto, tendo como padroeiro o Santíssimo Salvador do Mundo, com uma bonita imagem de cristo transfigurado. Atualmente está a evoluir como freguesia dormitório da cidade da Ribeira Grande, sem indústria ou atividades de relevo com a exceção da lavoura. Esta localidade retrata na perfeição a típica vida Micaelense, ondo o tempo corre devagar, sem pressas. O curso de água que atravessa o centro da localidade deu o nome ao povoado.
Sem dúvida o Ex libris é o porto da Ribeirinha, o porto de Santa Iria, onde se varam barcos de pesca e de recreio. Este porto é de construção antiga, fazendo lembrar um forte, e era por ali que se exportava alguma da produção de laranja para Inglaterra. Zona piscatória calma com uma praia de rocha, onde se pode praticar pesca, quer de caniço quer submarina.
É ainda de salientar toda a beleza nos espaços verdes existentes na freguesia, bem como uma antiga fábrica de chicória e do linho que outrora foi polo de desenvolvimento não só da freguesia mas também como para toda a ilha.

In the riverside there is the former factory of chicory that was once development center not only in the parish but also as for the whole island of São Miguel.
DESCRIPTION: Former chicory factory located in walled grounds near the center of town. It is composed of six bodies, standing out among the rectangular bodies of one floor, the vertical volume of the drying tower.
Next to the entrance gate lies the body of offices, in front of which there is a floor scale. Two warehouses and drying tower are contiguous forming a band of three buildings with the tower in the center. The tower in turn, results in "sticking" of three volumes: a rectangular prism whose rear face side of the faces of a hexagonal prism and whose front face, the rooftop level is prolonged by a small plant body trapezoidal supported by two consoles large triangular shaped blades.
The tower, inside, is divided into five floors which communicate with each other by a ladder. This gives access to each floor, to an undifferentiated room and the column of drying ovens which occupies the entire hexagonal plant body.
In front of these three buildings is located in a small building where chopped chicory. When the bottom field is located over a warehouse larger.
The buildings, which are not uniform constructive point of view, have composite structures of stone masonry and concrete blocks, iron and concrete, and the outer walls partially plastered and painted in yellow. The roofs are flat, slab of reinforced concrete, with the exception of the warehouse to the left side of the tower and office building has two roofs and water in a traditional half-round tile. On the flat roof of the warehouse which is right off the tower emerges a small prismatic tower quadrangular.

“Ribeirinha” is a parish in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, with 17.75 km ² and 2349 inhabitants (2011). Density: 132.3 / km².
Some of the points of interest of this parish are: Whale Watch Gazebo, Puerto de Santa Iria, church and city center, as well as an interesting route by the sea, in the cats floor area. This parish has two locations, curious name, Grams: Grams of Grams of Up and Down.
The parish feasts are very busy in the county, lasting from Saturday until 3rd Fair in mid-August, with the patron the Blessed Saviour of the World, with a beautiful image of Christ transfigured. Currently it is evolving as a parish dormitory town of Ribeira Grande, without industry or relief activities with the exception of agriculture. This village portrays perfectly the typical Micaelense life, ondo time runs slowly, without haste. The stream running through the center of the town gave its name to the village.
Undoubtedly Ex libris is the port of the riverfront, the port of Santa Iria, where varam fishing and recreational boats. This port is the old building, resembling a fort, and it was there that was exported by some of the orange production to England. Fishing quiet with a beach rock, where you can practice fishing, either rod or underwater.
