Geocache Description:

Join the geocaching fun in Helena, Montana as we spend the weekend caching the very best of the west!  We will be giving away lots of great prizes over the weekend including a $300 first place cash prize.  Caching activities Oct 2-4.

Registration is required to participate in the Wild West Cache Bash. Reply to one of the three event caches as “Will Attend” and tell us how many will be in your party. Registration due Wednesday, September 30. Register to receive your commemorative Wild West Cache Bash geocoin and Saturday lunch ticket.

Saturday, October 3 - Wild West Cache Bash Schedule of Events: GC6203A

9:00 am – Noon, Cache the Wild West Modified Poker Run | Visit www.helenamt.com/wildwest2015 to get the coordinates of these caches, to be published 10/3/15 at 9:00 am.
Join us for a morning adventure and find five new caches. You will write to an answer to a question at each cache. More directions will be at www.helenamt.com/wildwest2015. Starting at 11:30 am, come join us for lunch in the historic Reeder’s Alley and turn in your passwords for a chance to win $300 in cash for first place. First and second places will be awarded.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Helena History Fair | Pioneer Park – 120 S. Last Chance Gulch, Helena, MT
Come check out the free Helena History Fair, happening across the street from our lunch location at Reeder’s Alley. There will be an archery shoot, atlatl throwing, telegraphers, historical impersonators, and more.

10:30 am, The Big Read “True Grit” Story Time & Crafts | Lewis & Clark Library, 120 S. Last Chance Gulch 
Children up to 8 years old are welcome to join for story time and crafts in the large meeting room at the Lewis & Clark Library.

11:00 am - Noon, Guided Pioneer Cabin Tours
Come join us for a guided tour of the Pioneer Cabin, Helena's oldest documented dwelling, dating back to 1864. Expert historian, Ellen Baumler, will be leading the tour.

11:30 am, Chuck wagon Lunch | Reeder’s Alley – 212 S. Park Avenue, Helena, MT
Lunch is on us in the lawn behind the Caretaker’s Cabin. Must be registered for the Cache Bash to obtain your lunch ticket.

11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Old Fashioned Fun
After you enjoy your grub. Try your hand at sapphire mining, making your own ice cream, or our geocaching relay race. Be sure to get your photo with Rosie the GeoTour frog.

12:30 pm, The Big Read “True Grit” Story Time & Crafts
Children up to 8 years old are welcome to join for story time and crafts in the large meeting room at the Lewis & Clark Library.

1:00 pm, Free Trolley Tour of Helena
At the base of Reeder’s Alley, catch the 1-hr historic Helena trolley tour. Learn more about our original treasure hunters, the miners from the late 1800’s. This tour is sure to take you back in time to the Wild West Helena.

7:30 pm, Group Night Cache | Bob’s Valley Market – 7507 N. Montana Avenue, Helena, MT
Meet us at Bob’s Valley Market and come experience geocaching under the blanket of the Montana starlight sky. A true western experience. This will be a night time cache hunt you won’t soon forget. If you’re trying to complete the GeoTour, this is your chance to get GC25TMT.
