Intercache: Barley, Hops, and a Smiley Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Memfis Mafia: This seemed to work well. Unfortunately one of the locations changed and it doesn't make for the same story. I will retool this one and put a newer version out at some point in the future.

Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates but this is a good place to start and will put you close to stage 1. Get your GPS-equipped smart phone (fully charged) and experience a different kind of geocaching adventure! This is an interactive multistage geocache that will take you on a tour of some of our favorite places in Colorado. This is Northern Colorado's FIRST InterCache! Want to build your own InterCache?

Start here!

Go to the Intercaching website. It is very quick and simple. There is also a facebook group if you have questions. When you list your geocache on geocaching.com it should be listed as a multicache type.

What is an Intercache? An InterCache is an interactive geocache. A geocache is an outdoor activity that uses GPS devices to play a high tech treasure hunt. See geocaching.com for more information. An intercache is a new way of creating a mystery geocache, where you can string together a combination of virtual and physical waypoints together. The entire geocache can be developed, edited, and played on your mobile phone's browser with no software required to download! Part virtual cache, part multicache, part puzzle cache, and part adventure.

How do you play? First, make sure you have a compatible device. Go to intercaching.com on your smart phone and select the test button (do this outside for best results). If you are using a modern smart phone, it should be! Most Android and iPhone devices should work if you have location services turned on. You might not have a compatible phone... if not, you can make this a team effort with someone who does.

Let's Play!If your device is compatible, then head on over to the starting coordinates and open THE INTERCACHE PAGE on your phone to start. At each of the stages you will see some places in Loveland I think are worth sharing. At each of the stages you will be asked a question. You must answer it correctly and be within range of the destination in order to move on. You will also collect a virtual item at each stage. Make sure you collect the item. There will be a distance and compass on the bottom of each destination screen.
