This cache is placed in the Riserva Naturale del Monte Cofano.
Monte Cofano is a limestone promontory, with the characteristic triangular shape above the sea, which is 659 metres high. The real botanical peculiarity of the reserve is represented from the rocky environment that hosts numerous endemic species (plant species exclusive of this territory) including rock cabbage and Hieracium cophanense. You will also find the Centaurea ucriae, the Euphorbia bivonae and the Romulea linaresii. The reserve is also home to several species of wild orchids.
Notice: you need to pay a ticket for the access to Monte Cofano Reserve: 2€ full ticket, 1€ reduced ticket (groups), free ticket (children under 10 years).

Monte Cofano è un promontorio montuoso di natura calcarea, dalla caratteristica forma triangolare a picco sul mare, che raggiunge i 659 m di altezza. La vera peculiarità botanica della riserva è rappresentata dall'ambiente rupestre che ospita numerosi endemismi (specie vegetali legate esclusivamente a questo territorio) tra cui il cavolo di roccia e lo sparviere del Monte Cofano. Si trovano anche il fiordaliso delle scogliere, l'euforbia di Bivona, lo zafferanetto di Linares. La Riserva ospita anche diverse specie di orchidee selvatiche.
Attenzione: l'ingresso alla Riserva è a pagamento: biglietto intero 2€, biglietto ridotto 1€ (gruppi e residenti), ingresso libero per bambini fino ai 10 anni.
