When I first put out The Watchtower (aka MOG #1 Version #1), the johnnos told me about a large overhang nearby that he had contemplating putting a cache in, but I had now blocked the location. Well, now I have blocked it even more :)
I had a good explore of it, but it looks like it is heavily used based on the footprints, and there was nowhere to hide anything bigger than a nano / small, so in the end, the cache is a few metres to the north. But still worth a visit while you are there!
To me, caching is all about the trip to the location (and there are a number of different ways to do the trip as per below), so make use of the spoiler photo to help you with the find.
To get to GZ:
- You could start as per the provided waypoint, go around via where The Watchtower used to be (S 33° 44.581 E 151° 14.517). This will lead you to the tree-ladder-of doom (as per the spoiler). This approach is above t3, and shouldn't be taken too lightly!, or
- You could park as per the provided waypoint, find a safer way down the cliff (there are some spots about 100m to the North), or
- You might be able to park on the Wakehurst Parkway, and make a cross country trip (I could see a dirt road in that direction).
