Lets all get together after the CITO event at 12h00 to celebrate our Achievements, Fun and Souvenirs that the Road Trip '15 has provided. The more folk the merrier.  Please bring charcoal to share and all food, drinks, utensils etc as you may require.

For the who have members that will not want to take part in the CITO, there will be a few cachers at the picnic area from the starting time of the CITO. They can socialise there and get the fires going while the rest do the cleanup.

DID YOU KNOW?

Shongweni means Column of Smoke.

The name Shongweni comes from iTshongweni, meaning “column of smoke”, after the spray at the Ugede waterfall.

The water that Msinsi Resorts and Game Reserves and Umgeni Water join forces to safeguard is much more than simply scenically beautiful or somewhere to have fun. Water is a vital commodity for the survival of humanity.

In recent decades, especially, water has become a more and more scarce resource across the planet. This is a particular concern to South Africa, which is a semi-arid country. SA’s national rainfall is half the global average - even before climate change takes effect. And worse, less than 10% of our rainfall becomes runoff that ends up in our rivers. That’s the world’s lowest rate of rainfall to runoff conversion.

Msinsi Resorts and Game Reserves especially help protect a critical part of KZN’s water supply, working with our parent company Umgeni Water, a state entity established in 1974. Umgeni Water currently delivers 426 million cubic metres of drinking water to its six municipal customers a eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, Ilembe District Municipality, Sisonke District Municipality, Umgungundlovu District Municipality, Ugu District Municipality and Msunduzi Local Municipality.
