Ice Cream Sphere Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

bjpremore: This cache container, while unique, has had troubles ever since the beginning. I'm bringing it in and will see if I can repurpose it elsewhere. I hope to hide a new cache in the same general location soon. -bj

Geocache Description:

Round up the troops for a ball of fun on this enjoyable hike through the Greensboro Ridge Natural Area.

Park at the end of the Velvet Rocks road (coordinates provided) and use this map to plan your route to the cache. (A map is also available at the trailhead, and the trails have good signage.) I recommend making a loop out of it, and trying for the original Greensboro Ridge geocache as well. The loop can be completed easily in under an hour. It is kid-friendly, particularly for kids old enough to climb around on rock outcroppings.

Whether you use an Orb of Knowledge, an old-fashioned globe, or a traditional GPS receiver to find your way, the hint should keep you from running in circles. Do keep your eye on the ball and you won't have to search 'round too much.

(Note: The openings to the container sometimes stick pretty hard. They are twist-offs. If you can't get to the log, don't worry too much about not signing it.)
