Geocache Description:

Hinagdanan Cave

At this EarthCache you will learn about the Hinagdanan Limestone Cave.
The Hinagdanan Cave were discovered during the 16th century. When the owner of this aera was clearing his land of old trunks of trees and decaying branches he found a hole in the ground.
He tried to determine the depth by trowing a stone inside and was suprised to hear a splash.
A ladder was made in order for someone to get down inside without having difficulties.
The cave became popular all over the island and became a bathing area and main source of fresh water for locals.

At the coordinates you will find the man-made entrance to the cave. The entrance is an approximately 1 X 1 metre big hole in the ground with stairs and a handrail.
The cave is open from 07:30 to 18:00 Monday-Friday and 08:00 to 17:00 Satutday-Sunday. The entrance fee is ₱25 ($0.55) that includes a volunteer tourguide.
If you want to swim inside the cave it costs an additional ₱100 ($2.2)
It is recommended to bring good shoes since the cave is slippery inside. It is also recommended to bring a camera with a (small) tripod, so you get good pictures in low light conditions.
