Geocache Description:

By attempting to find this cache you take full responsibility for any injuries that may occur during the search.

This three stage multi-cache (named by my wife) is located along a small creek which runs under and next to Hartley Mill Rd. This cache should NEVER be attempted after heavy rainfall or at night and is not recommended for winter or for solo runs.

Each stage of this cache is very difficult to find, while finding the 1st and 2nd stages one must do some climbing and risk falling into the water, though only one of these activities is required for the 1st stage.  While finding this cache you will have the opportunity to enjoy two beautiful waterfalls and a piece of graffiti art featuring a large blue dinosaur that I call the “Hobbosaurus” (please post a selfie with him if you like him). It is best to park on the portion of Hartley Mill Rd. between the bridge and Glen Arm Rd. as there is a small shoulder there to pull off on. The stages range in size from micro to nano. Good luck and please watch out for muggles.

Stage 1:

This stage is located near a small but delightful waterfall where my best friend’s father proposed to his mother. Local legend says that the Native Americans who lived in this area bathed in the small pool at the base of the waterfall. This stage can be very dangerous after heavy rains, (see picture posted by RMNedrow if you don't believe me) and extremely difficult when temperatures are below freezing. There are some special instructions for finding this stage

  1. Bring a small bowl and a sheet of paper.

  2. Find the cache, take note of its position.

  3. Dump the contents of the container into the bowl.

  4. Write down the coordinates for the next stage.

  5. Replace the all of the contents EXACTLY as you found them.

  6. Replace the container, take care to position it exactly as it was before. If it will not stay in its spot hide it nearby and notify me of its location and condition.

Stage 2:

This stage is located within sight of the aforementioned dinosaur. Try to retrieve the container without hurting yourself. Also please don’t overtighten the lid as this damages the gasket.

Stage 3:

This stage is located near Hartley Mill Rd., the container was a gift and my good friend The Woodsman assisted me in hiding it. It is a micro but I am not expecting a lot of signatures so feel free to use your full username.

Congratulations to Death Wish Dave, Alzarius, Flamingo Girl, and Shrinerr for the Group FTF!

Happy Caching!
