The City of Mount Vernon is very proud of its public art. The Mount Vernon Arts Commission celebrates the diversity of art within our community. Numerous pieces of outdoor art are spread around the city, as well as the college campus. Even though there is a Geocoin Challenge aspect to this, the event itself is the gathering at the Tulip Dance Statue prior to the Art Hunt.
Join us at the 'Tulip Dance' located on the Plaza of the Riverwalk. It is our newest piece of outdoor art and the focus of our gathering to explore and discuss modern outdoor art. We will talk about other pieces of art located in the Downtown area, as well as other art spread around the community. We will provide a clue book for you to search out and admire these other pieces. If you choose to hunt down these 10 pieces, you will locate a 'clue' to enter into your tour book. Find all 10 and receive the very first Mount Vernon Art Hunt Geocoin. (Optional Activity)

This is the third day of a fantastic GeoWeekend in the city of Mount Vernon. There are only 100 coins minted for this event, so register early. Pre-registration can be done with our online form.
