Rainier100 1: Dogwood Park Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Rock Rabbit: Greetings from Geocaching.com

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If you reactivate the cache and/or post a note here within a month, then no action will be taken. Whatever your intentions, please post a note here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed as part of the Visit Rainier Centennial GeoTour - 100 geocaches to celebrate 100 years of the National Park Service. The GeoTour has ended, but you can still enjoy visiting many of these special places. This bookmark lists all the GeoTour caches.

Dogwood Park offers a stunning view of Mount Rainier and some local history to boot.

This is a simple multicache. You only need one number, and the final is in this little park.

At the posted coordinates, there is a brown historical marker. On the ground, under the historical marker, there is a 2-digit number.

This number is AB.

A + B = XX

Subtract 16 from XX, then ADD it to the North coordinates.

Subtract 9 from XX, then ADD it to the West coordinates.

No need to leave the gravel parking area. BEWARE: Most plants in the park have thorns.

2016 was the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, and to celebrate, Visit Rainier and WSGA hosted the Visit Rainier Centennial GeoTour - 100 caches placed in and around Mount Rainier National Park. The geocaches highlighted the rich history, scenic wonders, quaint communities, and hidden gems of the Rainier region. Participants received geocoin and pathtag prizes for finding all the caches.
