The village of Pentati is a small, traditional fishing village on the west coast of the Greek island of Corfu. Situated 200m above sea level and over-looking the famous Ortholithi rock. Pentati is within walking distance of the bustling holiday resort of Agios Gordios and only 18km from Corfu Town. Pentati is well known for its annual Sardine and Fish Festivals that take place at the old school but not so well known is its long historical association with pirates and smugglers. Approximately 1.5 km from the village is the district of Paramonas where the family of the composer Nicholas Mantzaros - who famously wrote the music for the Greek National Anthem - had a farm with farmhouse, the ruins of which have survived.
Pentati can be reached by 3 roads, from Agios Gordios, via Paramonas and also through the mountain village of Ano Pavliana. There is also a public footpath that runs from the beach on Agios Gordios along the cliff side and directly in to Pentati.
