Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache to begin a series of caches showcasing my favourite parts of East Belfast, however they can be done in any order you choose!

All the information you need to solve this is included on the page, but will require a little bit of brain power and local knowledge. You may be able to find it without using the hint if you are in tune with my way of thinking, but there are a number of clues dotted throughout the notes on this page.

This is the gateway into East Belfast

Sometimes there are certain parts of Belfast that get a bad press.... this area is one of them. At certain times of the year this area can be a bit of a hot spot when it comes to 'seasonal clashes' (you may want to bear this in mind if visiting this cache during the summer months!).

However, Belfast has so much more to offer. I have always lived in Belfast, but have only recently moved to East Belfast and since doing so I have come to love it and all that it has to offer, from some of East Belfast's great talents including CS Lewis, George Best, Van Morrison, it's many beautiful parks and greenways, it's boutique shops and vibrant bars and amazing selection of delicious eateries.

So, I have decided to place a series of caches in honour of all the wonderful things.... the other side of East Belfast.

Here is an image of a mural which you should be able to see from the starting co-ordinates. In this photo it is in the process of being completed.  (I will add another picture of the finished article when it has been completed)If you can make it out it represents the changes which are happening in the area.

UPDATE: Here is the finished article.

There has been a shift in the type of murals in the area to include more historical images including the Titanic and cultural images such as some famous faces from the East of the city. Perhaps you will be able to spot a few of these as you make your way around the series.

Caches in the series include:

The Other Side of East Belfast GC5QVE1
A nod to George GC5QXDC
Ty-Isa (The Wardrobe) GC5QXMF
The Strand Cinema GC5QYFE
Church Micro IE 137 Belmont Presbyterian GC5QZ2G
Belmont Tower GC5NZVB

The Birth of a Writer GC5QXWM
Church Micro IE 138 St Colmcille’s GC5QZ3X
Church Micro IE 139 Kirkpatrick Memorial, Belfast GC5QZ67

Good Luck, and enjoy!

The Puzzle:

FFFD DDDF FFDDDDDDD
F#F#F#D. DDDF#. F#F#DDDDDDD
DDDDDDDDDD. D#EEE EEEEE

When you work out the puzzle you should be able to come up with a title. Use this title to work out the final co-ordinates by assigning a value to each of the letters

A = 1st+2nd+8th
B = 8th-11th
C = 10th
D = 3rd+5th
E = 1st+4th+5th+12th
F = 5th+7th
G = 9th–7th
H = 6th
