Church Micro 7611...Acomb Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines:**"You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."**

If you wish to contact me about this cache please use my Email address below my signature and quote the GC number of the cache. Please note this system is not infallible and I may miss any such mail.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

A simple cache and dash outside this fairly modern brick-built church. I have a soft spot for this church as my daughter designed the logo you see on the signs.

A newer building than the majority of Church Micros, not without architectural merit though.

A temporary Wesleyan chapel was opened on a site adjacent to Beckfield Lane and Lidgett Grove in 1934, and the present red brick chapel was completed in 1937. The pulpit in the chapel is claimed to be that used by John Wesley when he visited the church of St Mary Castlegate, and which was subsequently used in Peckitt Street New Connexion Chapel.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list
