Geocache Description:

Have you been to one of the “Rockin’ the River” events on the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. These fun events are a floating happy hour that take place almost every Thursday during the summer. The feature live music on the only waterfront stage in Texas and event-goers can enjoy the concert while they float on an inner tube or from a blanket on the riverbank.
You might not know it but this location was actually the site of the very first “official” Trinity River float. In the summer or 2010 a group of about 30 people, led by the Trinity River Vision Authority, decided to see if they could float the Trinity River. And while the float in this location was too slow they were the group who ignited the phenomenon which we now know as Rockin’ the River!

You're very close to the Woodshed Smokehouse if you need to take a break along your adventure!

This geocache is a part of the TRWD Trinity Trails Geocaching Adventure which takes you on a journey throughout the entire trail system to discover hidden gems, historically significant locations and some of the most popular spots along the trails. It’s perfect for families, geocaching newbies and seasoned “cachers” alike.
