Geocache Description:

This plaza opened in 2014 to honor two great men in Fort Worth’s History. The first was our city’s founder, Major Ripley Allen Arnold. The bronze statue at the center of the plaza is of Major Ripley Arnold and was created by the internationally renowned sculpture Archie St. Claire. The second man it honors is John V. McMillan who was a business man and philanthropist who contributed to hundreds of non-profit organizations with his time and resources.

Before or after you hunt for the cache in this area, take a moment to explore the plaza and learn about our city’s storied past. You can learn more about Major Ripley Arnold and John V. McMillan as well as learn about the fort that founded our city, the settlers who first embraced the area and the Native American Indians who first called this region home.

This geocache is a part of the TRWD Trinity Trails Geocaching Adventure which takes you on a journey throughout the entire trail system to discover hidden gems, historically significant locations and some of the most popular spots along the trails. It’s perfect for families, geocaching newbies and seasoned “cachers” alike.
