Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS LOCATED AT THE COORDINATES LISTED

The Jasmer Challenge is finding a cache for every month that geocaching has been active, beginning in May 2000.  In order to qualify for this cache, you must have done that TWICE!!  Please list the qualifying caches for the year of 2000 or show the required information in your public profile or upload a picture of your qualifiers.

You must meet the requirements for the Challenge before you can log it as Found, but may sign the physical log at any time.  This cache is definitely about the journey and experiences found along the way.  What are your Favorites?

One of my Mother's favorite sayings was that if life gave you lemons, make lemonade!  My sister, mmswift, started geocaching to share her experiences with my mother as she lost her ability to experience life on her own, due to progressing Alzheimer's Disease.  My sister would go out to geocache while our mother was resting, and come back with tales to talk about and if she was lucky, a trackable to show off.  When I visited, she introduced me to the Fun.  Now my sister and I meet and go out to Play, finding geocaches all over the United States together on our vacations.  The Jasmer Challenge gave us a goal to go to many places and find some fantastic caches.  We have done some amazing trips and we finished our first Jasmer Challenges in fairly short order.  Now that we have completed the Jasmer Challenge THREE times, it is time to put out a Challenge to those who have a hankering for the Old Ones.  If you have filled your Jasmer Grid at least TWICE, you can get a Smile here!

One of my favorite Old Caches is Columba in San Francisco, CA.  It was a beautiful surprise. We had a wonderful trip visiting Georgia, after a mad dash south through nine states in one day, on our way to Illinois from Wisconsin via Georgia.  Oh, the places you go for Old Ones!  It's only an 8 hour drive to go get that single cache, get in the car and go! We did. We have visited states from Washington to Michigan and everywhere in between together in our pursuit of Old Caches and have had wonderful experiences along the way.  Geocaching has brought our family together and gives us a Smile almost everyday!  The Old Ones are special and when we lose them, they can't be replaced, but there are lots of memories to be made out there.  Share them with your loved ones, and make lemonade when you can.

The usual cautions apply here: watch out for Poison Oak (leaves of 3, let them be), take care in snake country and you may want a TOTT here. There are dangerous things on the ground, don't look there for this cache, but watch your step.

Enjoy!  We did!
