SECRET TUNNEL
It was in 1993 on Radio 2NZ that Guyra resident Ron Lockyer heard tenders calling for the demolition of Guyra Railway Station. It was through one person's efforts and a small band of helpers that it stands today. The Station houses a collection of railway memorabilia. During the Lamb and Potato Festival in January you can take a ride on a cub trolley from the Big Lamb up the tracks to the Railway Station and past the Mother of Ducks Lagoon.
Guyra Railway Station was established in 1884. With upkeep of the rail tracks ending in Armidale, Guyra Railway Station is now an Antique Machinery Museum. Guyra's altitude is 4330 feet above sea level so be prepared for a chilly visit in winter.
There's plenty of space for larger vehicles to park nearby.
