Ooit stond op de plaats van deze rijhuizen de kerk van het Dominicanenklooster. In de tuinen (en in de aanpalende straat Onderbergen) zijn er sporen van te zien. Verder verwijst ook naam van deze straat (Jakobijnen) en van de brug (Predikheren) naar hun aanwezigheid. Huisnr. 4 is trouwens de pastorij van de Sint-Michielskerk, al woont de pastoor elders.

Where these townhouses are now, there used to be a church of the Dominicanen monastery. In the gardens and adjacent street (Onderbergen) you still see the remains. Also the name of the street (Jakobijnen) and the bridge (Predikheren) refer to their presence. The house with nr.4 is the rectory of the St. Michael's church, although the priest lives somewhere else.
