Welkom bij Garden of Amsterdam GeoTour

Deze cache is onderdeel van de Garden of Amsterdam GeoTour. Ontdek het Fortenland, de historische buitenplaatsen en de uitgestrekte waterpartijen in de regio Gooi & Vecht. Voor deze GeoTour hebben wij 60 speciale caches geplaatst in een gebied van historische rijkdom en heerlijke natuur. Als je de GeoTour uitspeelt, maak je kans op de speciale GeoTour geocoin. Speciale tool : 9 volt batterij (volle, verse (goed merk!) batterij anders opent het deurtje niet). Als je het hele spel kan spelen inclusief het groene lampje aan het eind, maar het deurtje gaat niet open dan is helaas je batterij niet sterk genoeg. De cache bevindt zich niet in de schuur, dus probeer niet de poort te openen.


Mijn Opa was koster bij deze kerk. Mijn vader vertelt altijd mooie verhalen uit zijn jeugd in en om de kerk. Vandaar dat ik wat heb met deze mooie grote kerk in Hilversum.

De oude Vituskerk, gebouwd in 1786 stond op dezelfde plaats als de huidige kerk. In 1887 bleek deze kerk veel te klein geworden om alle parochianen onderdak te bieden. De Roermondse architect dr. P.J.H. Cuypers, in die tijd bouwer van vele kerken, werd gevraagd een tekening te maken voor een nieuw te bouwen kerk. De bouw van de kerk is in 1892 afgerond.

In de huidige kerk zijn nog enkele zaken terug te vinden uit de originele St Vitus kerk. De beelden van de Maagd Maria en Sint Vitus en ook twee geschilderde altaarpanelen, Ook uit de oude kerk komen het orgel (1859), het doopvont (1860) en de kruiswegstaties (1861).

De cache zelf is een braingame die opgelost moet worden. Neem de tijd en wanhoop niet.

Geweld is niet nodig en pas dat ook niet toe anders kunnen anderen niet genieten van deze mooie cache. Je hebt wel een 9 volt batterij nodig en wat logisch denkvermogen. Dan opent de cache vanzelf.

For this GeoTour we have prepared 60 special caches in an area full of historical wealth and natural tranquillity that is located only 15 minutes from Amsterdam. Special tool : 9 volt battery (a full, fresh battery or the door will not open). The cache isn't in the shed, so don't try to open the gate.

My grandfather was a sexton for this church. My father always told great stories from his youth in and around the church. That’s why I rather love this big, beautiful church in Hilversum.

The old Vituskerk, built in 1786, stood at the same place as the current church. In 1887, this church appeared to be too small to house all its parishioners. The Roermond architect Dr P.J.H. Cuypers, in that time the builder of many churches, was asked to make drawings for the building of a new church. The construction of the church was completed in 1892.

In the current church, there are still several things to be found from the original St Vitus church, including the statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint Vitus as well as two painted altar panels. Also from the old church come the organ (1859), the baptismal fountain (1860) and the stations of the cross (1861).

Spezialwerkzeug: 9 -Volt-Batterie (ein volle, frische batterie, anderfalls öffnet die Tür nicht). Der Cache is nicht in der Scheune, so bitte versuchen sich nicht das Tor zu öffnen.

Mein Opa war Küster in dieser Kirche. Mein Vater erzählte mir immer schöne Geschichten aus seiner Jugend in und um der Kirche. Deshalb empfinde ich etwas für diese schöne, große Kirche in Hilversum.

Die alte Vituskirche wurde in 1786 gebaut und stand an der gleichenstelle wie die heutige kirche. In 1887 stellte sich heraus das die Kirche viel zu klein geworden war um alle Gemeindemitglieder zu beherbergen . Der Roermondse Architekt Herr P.J.H. Cuypers, in der Zeit Bauer vieler Kirchen, wurde gefragt eine Zeichnung zu machen für eine neue Kirche. Der Bau der Kirche wurde in 1892 vervollständigt.

In der heutign kirch findet man noch einige alte Elemente der originalen Kirche zurück. Die Statuen von der Jungfrau Maria und Sint Vitus und auch noch zwei bemalte Altartafeln, auch die aus der alten Kirche stammende Orgel (1859), und die Kreuzwegstationen (1861).
