The cache will take you to one of the best kept secrets for cinephiles in the city of Hong Kong. Equipped with a café, a bookstore and a DVD store (all named after a great director), it is a culture hub for movie lovers to watch movies and meet other movie lovers .
Hong Kong has long been a city in love with the magic of cinema, and the cinema at gz is one of the most popular venues in town for film fans to satisfy their appetites for international indies. The art house cinema was opened in 1996 in Yau Ma Tei, a historical neighbourhood that’s no stranger to film crews. It became a local cultural landmark when it began hosting a series of film festivals, including the Asian Film Festival, Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and European Film Festival. It also offers retrospective programmes that introduce great filmmakers such as Francois Truffaut, Yamada Yoji and Krzysztof Kieslowski to a new generation of cinephiles. Recently the arthouse cinema has also launched its own movie channel.
