Geocache Description:

The 132nd in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.
The only rule is that they have to be able to be photographed together, and the phone boxes have to be red.

The Barracks are nothing to do with the military in this case. They were origanally a row of miners’ cottages built on the road from Parkend to Blakeney in the late 1840s. The cottages, numbering 20 in five identical blocks, were leased to local colliery owners by the Crown, which in 1908 erected a row of four cottages to the west and in 1910 and 1911 rebuilt the original dwellings as four ranges containing 16 cottages.

Parking next to the cache off the main road. The cache is a nano so pen/pencil will be required. Please be aware that traffic can be fast moving on this road.

The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum.

If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do, I would just ask that you let mattd2k know first so he can keep track of the numbers and names to avoid duplication.

He also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series so once your cache is published please contact him via his profile page to have yours added.
