A quick cache and dash near the local church.
tweezers may be useful here to extract the log.
St Saviours began in 1880 as a Mission, in what was regarded as Folkestone's poorest district. The parish housed most of the railway workers on the Dover to Folkestone. the Mission was set up in a former bakery in Sidney Street, and it housed a Mission Chapel, Sunday School and Cocoa Tavern.
The current site was acquired and built in 1882, and the church was then known as 'the iron church' due to its construction of wood and corrugated iron. The present building has undergone many changes and rebuilds to become the outstanding local landmark it is today. It is now a grade II listed building.
