Malou kulatou hlavu ma vmacklou mezi ramena (pusobi dojmem, jakoby nemela krk). Nejvyraznejsimi znaky, kterymi se lisi od vsech ostatnich stredoevropskych druhu sykor, jsou modre temeno a cerny prouzek pres oko. Hlava je jinak bila, hrbet a kostrec olivove zeleny a kridla modra s uzkou bilou paskou. Spodina je zluta s uzkym sedocernym stredovym pruhem, ocas modry bez bileho zbarveni. Nohy jsou tmave modrosede, oci hnede. Obe pohlavi jsou zbarvena podobne, samice vsak byva o neco matnejsi. Mlady ptak ma matnou cepicku a zlute tvare.
Rozsireni
Hnizdi ve vetsine Evropy s vyjimkou nejsevernejsichch oblasti, dale v severni Africe, Male Asii a na Blizkem vychode.
Potrava
Sykora modrinka patri mezi cenne pozirace rostlinnych skudcu, jako jsou napr. motyly housenky nebo msice, ackoli na jare ostipuje i mlade pupeny a listy stromu a vyhledava ruzna semena. V zimnim obdobi si potravu rada zpestři burskymi orisky, semeny slunecnice nebo zivocisnym tukem v sitkach. Pri ziskavani potravy je velmi vynalezava a adaptabilni, coz dokazuje i skutecnost, ze se v Anglii naucila rozklovavat hliníkova vicka lahvi s mlekem a sezobavat smetanu pod nim.
Rozmnozovani
Hnizdi jednotlive a teritorialne. Vetsinou je monogamni. Hnizdo je typicky v dutinach stromu nebo v hnízdních budkách. Stavebnim materiálem je mech a trava, kotlinka je vystlana srsti, zinemi a perim. Hnizdo si stavi pouze samice po dobu 4-12 dnu, obcas s prinasenim materialu pomaha i samec. Hnizdi 1-2 rocne od dubna do cervence. Kompletni snuzka obsahuje 7-12 bilych, cervenohnede skvrnitych vajec o rozmerech 15,5 x 11,9 mm. Samice na vejcich sedi sama 12-14 dnu a samec ji prinasi potravu. Pokud je jejich hnizdo ohrozovano, najezi chocholku na hlave, zacne vydavat sycive zvuky a do predatora klovat. Mladata jsou krmena obema rodici a hnizdo opousteji ve stari 15-23 dnu. |S rodici setrvavaji i pres zimu a poprve hnizdi ve 2.kalendarnim roce zivota.
Nejvyssi znamy vek je 11 let a 1 mesic.
Celou serii se snazime pomoci nasim ptacim kamaradum usnadnit jejich nelehky ptaci zivot zajistenim potravy pres zimu. Jednou z moznosti, jak ptakum pomoci je prave geokrmitko, ktere jsme spolecne vyrobili na nasich oddilovych schuzkach a umistili.

Kdo chcete, muze si z kesky vzit letacek, z ktereho se dozvite zajimavosti nejen o prikrmovani ptaku, ale i o stavbe budek a krmitek. Pak si sami doma budete moct nejakou budku ci krmitko vyrobit a pozvat tak ptaky i k vam na zahradu.
Cestou od kese se pak muzete pokusit najit a popripade i vyfotit nejen modrinky, ale i dalsi stravniky.

Welcome at Eurasian blue tit!
Welcome at the third stop of our bird series. All the caches were made by children attending children’s club BRDO Pardubice, which is part Hnuti Brontosaurus movement brdo-pardubice.brontosaurus.cz. This cash will teach you about life of Eurasian nuthatch. When you go hunt for this cache, take some bird food with you, please. The reward for you will be stickers, bookmarks, fridge magnets or buttons - all with natural theme. Please, try to keep the theme of the cache during exchanging stuff. Thank you!
Eurasian blue tit
Description
- Length of the body: 11–13 cm
- Wingspan: 20 cm
- Weight: 11 g
Its small head is right between its shoulders, so it seems that it doesn’t have neck. The most significant traits, varying it from other central European types of tits, Eurasian blue tit has blue top of the head and black stripe across the eye. Its head is white, spine and tailbone olive green and wings blue with thin white stripe. The belly is yellow with thin blue-gray stripe in the middle. The tail is blue with thin white stripe. The legs are dark blue-gray and eyes are brown. Both males and females have the same colouring, but the female can be little bit darker. Young bird has dark top of the head and yellow cheeks.
Distribution
It lives in the most parts of the Europe, excluding northern parts. It lives also in the Africa, Asia and Middle East.
Feeding
The Eurasian blue tit is a valuable destroyer of pests, though it has not an entirely clean sheet as a beneficial species. Although in the spring time Eurasian blue tit also seeks tree buds, leaves and seeds. During winter tit also its nuts, sunflower seeds o lard. The Eurasian blue tit is very inventive. They are able to open milk bottles with foil tops, to get at the cream underneath
Breeding
The Eurasian blue tit nests territorially and individually. They are monogamous. The Eurasian blue tit will nest in any suitable hole in a tree o in bird boxes. The nesting material is usually moss, wool, hair and feathers. The nest is build up only by females for 4 - 12, additional material may be brought by male. When the nest is in the danger, The Eurasian blue tit bristles the crest at the top of the head and starts attacking the attacker. The young Eurasian blue tits are fed by both parents and leave the nest after 15 - 23 days. The highest known age of The Eurasian blue tit is 11 years and 1 month.
With the whole series we are trying to help to our bird friends with their uneasy life during winter by providing them food. One way, hot to help them is geo bird feeder, which we made together during our meetings.
So please, take some bird food with you when you go hunting for the cache.
What is good for the birds:
