As far as I can recall this this is the third cache to be placed at this Church. The last cache had to be archived as it was damaged when the trees lining the footpath were given a haircut. I am delighted to resurrect the cache with a new hide.
St Botolph is the medieval church of North Cove, so-named, apparently, to distinguish it from South Cove although the latter takes its name from the fact that it is a mile south of Covehithe. Maybe North Cove was simply Cove before the roads and railways came?
The eccentric flint and red brick tower is rather pleasing beside the solid Norman nave, which is betrayed by the splendid south doorway. Decorated windows punctuate the walls, but they seem a little awkward, as if they didn't want to be quite so far apart.
