Geocache Description:

A PET preform container hidden on the top of Япул-Бурун (328m) mountain.

Япул-Бурун is a dome-shaped mountain with gentle slopes and a summit 328m above the sea level situated on the Southern shore of Crimean peninsula. It's riddled with ravines and overgrown with sparse trees, mostly pines. Located 2 kilometers NE from the town Рыбачье (Rybache) near the road P-29 (Алушта — Судак — Феодосия) it's not on the average tourists' path. As far as I know, there even are no buses going from Rybache to Sudak and people who drive from either Yalta or Alushta to Eastern Crimea mostly choose the highway through Simferopol and miss the beautiful serpentines and views of this road.

The cache has been placed to encourage people to take this road, to explore a place which would remain unvisited otherwise. Enjoy the view to the Black Sea, town Rybache, surrounding mountains and vineyards!

It is also the first geocache placed by How Many Roads as a part of the adventure "The Road Less Travelled to the Place Furthest Away" and commemorates 2 month anniversary of the journey. You can look it up on our Facebook or webpage but long story short - three Latvians on September 15th 2014 set out on an adventure to travel to the furthest inhabited place from their homes, the place being Pitt Island in New Zealand. One of them - Ivars a.k.a. ivss_xx being an avid geocacher decided to find and place some caches on the way. They started with bicycles, went through Belarus, Ukraine, visited Moldova and after that two of the bikes got stolen in Sevastopol, Crimea. The journey continued - now Ivars and Laura moving on by hitch-hiking. Ascent to this summit and placing a cache here was spontaneous, inspired by the fact that so few cars went to the direction needed that they might as well not be on the road and still not miss them.
