Let's start from la Halle de Sports de Penhars, a place where one can, among other things, do some ............. Gouren !
So that's where the name of this cache comes from, and with it come our best wishes to N., who officially passed her Gouren-teaching exam two days before this cache was published !!

Prenez ici le départ d'une série de cache autour du "gouren", un sport importé en Armorique dès le 4ème siècle. Longtemps réservé aux nobles, le gouren devint ensuite un sport populaire, pratiqué dans les campagnes bretonnes.
Passé un peu de mode après la première guerre mondiale et l'apparition de nouveaux sports, il fut remis au goût du jour par le Dr Cotonnec qui formula en 1930 les règles du gouren moderne.
C'est aujourd'hui un sport pratiqué par 1600 licenciés, inscrit parmi les options possibles pour le bac et affilié à la Fédération Française de Lutte.

You will find yourself-ves at the beginning of a set dealing with "Gouren", a sport imported to Armorique as early as the 4th century. After being played only by the gentry for centuries, Gouren became a popular sport widely spread over the Breton countryside.
Gouren was less popular after the 1st world war, when other sports came forward. Dr Cotonnec brought it back into fashion around 1930. He also wrote what became the rules of modern Gouren.
Today, Gouren is a sport practised by 1600 federation members, is affiliated to the French Wrestling Federation and can be chosen as a baccalauréat sport option.
