An ammo can located in a corner of Fahnestock adjacent to California Hill
This cache was intended to be another California hilltop cache, but it has ended up in a corner of Fahnestock that butts up against California Hill. Bac first placed in a location just outside Fahnestock as seen on our GPS, but nyadmin reported it being within the park boundary. So bac went back and moved it to a location apparently a safe distance from the park boundary only to find out that the boundaries had moved making the maps on the GPSr obsolete. So, we gave in to the inevitable and moved the cache to be consistent with state park placement rules. We recommend access via California Hill using the parking lot at the indicated parking waypoint. Follow the trail to the power line and then follow the road under the power line east past "Spilt Rock" until you see a road heading into the woods to the right that will take you to the cache. This is one of our (especially bac's) favorite hiking areas and we hope you enjoy the decent walk out to GZ.
