Multin alkupisteenä on Hellesilta, joka on pohjoisin Uutelan kanavan ylittävistä silloista.

Hellesillalta voit ihailla kanavan pohjoispään suihkulähdettä ja sillan alittavaa pientä putousta. Ensimmäinen tehtäväsi on selvittää suihkulähteen erillisten suihkujen lukumäärä (A). Laskeminen on helpompaa, jos kierrät suihkulähteen pohjoispään ympäri. Kesällä voit myös kahlata suihkulähteelle. Alempana talviseen aikaan sopivampi tapa selvittää A.

Tutki seuraavaksi kanavaa etelän suuntaan Hellesillalta (alkupisteellä) ja näet kanavassa suurehkon, osittain vedenalaisen kiven. Kanavan itäpuolella nurmialueella näet tämän kiven pronssiin valetuista kopioista toteutetun ympäristötaideteoksen (Anne Koskinen, Kivi, 2008). Kanavassa on edelleen alkuperäinen kivi, joka ei ole pronssia.

Jatka matkaasi Sumujen sillalle kulkien kanavan itäistä reunaa. Laske kulkiessasi taideteokseen kuuluvien nurmialueella eri asennoissa olevien pronssisten kivien lukumäärä (B) ja laske myös kanavan itäreunalla näiden kahden sillan välissä olevien laiturien lukumäärä (C).

Sumujen sillan alta löydät kesällä vähän edellistä korkeamman vesiputouksen, jonka kohinaa voit halutessasi katsella ja kuunnella lähempääkin, sillä sillan voi ylittää myös putouksen vesiverhon takaa kävellen. Sumujen sillan vieressä kanavan länsipuolella on geometrisesti puilla rajattu Myrskyjen aukio. Aukion puiden lukumäärä on sama kuin suihkulähteen suihkujen lukumäärä (A).

Jatka edelleen matkaasi kohti kanavan eteläpäätä ihaillen Kauniinilmanpuiston kallioita ja istutuksia. Selvitä samalla kanavan ylittävien siltojen kokonaismäärä ( D).

Saavuttuasi upean merimaiseman äärelle Aurinkolahden rantaan ja viimeiselle sillalle, Urheilukalastajansillalle, tarkkaile kaloja. Ehkä näet muutaman kalastajan tai jos olet onnekas, voi matkasi osua toukokuiselle päivälle, jolloin Itä-Helsingin kalastusseurat ovat istuttaneet kanavaan kirjolohia nuorten ongittavaksi. Etsi lopuksi kätköä varten ympäristöstä kala, jonka voit nähdä myös talvella ja laske kalan nimen kirjainten lukumäärä (E).

The given cordinates takes you to the Hellesilta Bridge, which is the northest bridge of the Uutela Canal.

At the end of the canal you can see a fountain. Count the water flows of the fountain. Let the number be A. It migth be easier to count the number, if you walk round the nothern part of the canal. It is also possible to wade to the fountain in the summer. In winter look ahead to see a better way to solve letter A.

Turn around on the Hellesilta Bridge (the starting point) and you can see a big stone in the Canal. On the eastern bank of the Canal you can see environmental art based on bronze sculptures molded into the shape of the stone in the Canal (Anne Koskinen, The Stone, 2008).

Go on to the next bridge, Waterloo Bridge (Sumujen silta) and while going count the number of bronze sculptures (B) on the eastern bank (don't count the stone in the canal) and count the number of jetties C in the eastern shoreline between these two bridges .

In summer under the Waterloo Bridge you can find a waterfall and a corridor leading to the back of the waterfall showing what the world looks like through a water curtain. On the west side of the Waterloo Bridge you can see the Plaza of Storms flanked by trees forming a geometric pattern. If you had earlier problems while counting the water flows, you can count the trees in this plaza instead. Tthe number of the water flows is equal to the number of the trees (A).

Go on to the southern part of the Canal looking around the Fair Weather Park, its meadows, lawns and rocky slopes. Count the total number of bridges crossing the Uutela Canal. Let the number be D.

After reaching the last Fisherman’s Bridge (Urheilukalastajansilta) you will have a beautiful view to the sea. Look around and you will see the signboard containing a fish and two words with tall black letters. The last word is the name of this fish. Count the letters of the name and let the number be E.

Now you know the main facts about the Uutela Canal and you can count the cordinates of the cache.
