A quick and easy cache that can be found as an extra while doing the nearby Queen Powertrail. The cache is located at the suggested carpark for the powertrail, meaning that you can quickly find this one before you set off.
The nearby powertrail is based on the legendary British rock band, Queen, which formed in 1971 and created some of the most diverse rock anthems of all time. So to fit with that theme, this cache is named after another Queen song, ‘I’m in Love with My Car’.
This song was written and sung by the drummer, Roger Taylor, for the 1975 critically acclaimed album ‘A Night at the Opera’. The album contains many songs with creative storylines, this one being about Roger’s devotion and interest in cars! Roger’s tongue-in-cheek lyrics (joked about a lot in the 2018 Queen biopic) and realistic car sound effects, making this one of his signature songs. The song was released as a B-side to the highly successful, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, which stayed at no. 1 in the UK for nine weeks. Because this cache is at a carpark, you might even see a car that you will fall in love with!
The cache is a black 200 mL Sistema container with a small log book, pathtags and other toys. There is also a pen inside, but I would BYOP just in case the pen gets taken. I won this cache as first prize at the annual ‘Spring Time Trivia Time’ event in September 2014, so a huge thanks Sol de Lune for organising another great event and providing the prizes.
