Geocache Description:

This cache used to be part of the Royal Deesiders Geotour. The Geotour has now finished but the cache can still be logged as part of the Narnia series

Beaversdam- The Lion ,the Witch and the Wardrobe

The third cache based on C.S.Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. The 7th Cache is a mystery cache. To solve it note the clues on the lids of this and the other 5 Narnia cache container lids. Each represents a different book ( not in reading order - clues wouldn't fit.!). In addition to the normal hint Narnian fans will gain an extra clue in the cache title

This is a lovely circular walk ( with a tail ) around Loch Kinord, Dinnet on Royal Deeside, within the Cairngorm National Park. It is recommended for ease of caching that you walk this route starting in the Dinnet Car Park and walk in a clockwise direction.

The Loch Kinord Circular route is 8.5K long, with good tracks although it can be muddy at times. It is reasonably flat with some short steeper sections, suitable for off road buggies and bikes. There are many lovely walks in this area, Dinnet is next to the fantastic Deeside Way , and this route runs next to the wonderful Burn o Vat Visitor centre, where there is a traditional cache and a spectacular Earth Cache( well worth a visit).

Loch Kinord is on a nature reserve with the Clarack Loch forming part of the route and Davan Loch ( an area of special scientific interest )nearby.

Look out for a huge variety of wildlife, including red squirrels , otters, grey legged geece, ospreys and mute swans. Look out also for a 9th centuary celtic stone ,and the iron age Crannog on Loch Kinord itself.

There are many water attractions, Loch Clarack , Loch Kinord, a disused curling pond and numerous burns on this route so please take appropriate care especially with young cachers.

This is a beautiful area managed by Dinnet Estate and the Scottish National Heritage. Please ensure you take your rubbish away with you and consider picking up any litter found in order to help maintain the lovely environment. Please always adhere to the Scottish Countyside Code and the signs regarding breeding birds in the aea. Dogs are welcome but please , again adhere to the signs regarding dog control.

These caches were placed with the kind permission of Dinnet Estate and the Scottish National Heritage. Many Thanks.
